Pamela Groves, Jamaica/USA:David teacher: Okay, at the beginning he's kind of serious, almost grim. It's probably his professional look, but for some it can take getting used to. Coming from Jamaica I wanted to put a little heat in him... Having said that, he's a really good teacher. Very good and patient. Occasionally I suggested to him that he work on having a less expressive face when I was butchering the language horribly.. hard for a Latin I know... But this was infrequent... and of course, one wouldn't want a robot for a teacher! I liked the fact that he stayed in "character" i.e. spoke Spanish unless I begged for an English translation. I was a bit of an alternative student preferring to meet in a cafe rather than the classroom, and David took my lead and conducted the lessons according to my wishes. He was always completely flexible and clearly wanted me to be satisfied. As I come to the end of my course, I wish I could stay much, much longer as his student!
Casa Caballero is exquisite! I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in Jerez: a wonderful blend of old and new. The apartment was fully equipped, spotless and comfortable. Her two dogs are darling and will come for a visit if encouraged but will stay away if not.

Undervisningen med Davíd var lærerik og veldig nyttig for meg, og har gitt meg nytt mot i forhold til dette med å tørre å bruke språket. Og det trengte jeg. Ellers vil jeg jo også nevne at vi er imponerte over den gjestfrihet dere viser, og vi følte oss veldig godt tatt vare på av dere to. Så karakteren fra oss må bli minst 6+, vi storkoste oss.

Podía entenderlo todo. Pero aquí he tenido que esforzarme para entenderlo todo. Ahora entiendo el español mucho mejor y sé qué trabajo tengo que hacer para que me entiendan en la calle. También me gustó mucho el libro de clase que contiene muchas expresiones y frases modernas y útiles para la conversación. Toda la gente es muy amable, Lengualuz es excelente.

Myra Lane, Boston, USA:Al principio creo que tuvimos dificultad con la rapidez de la conversación, pero poco a poco el entendimiento ha mejorado. David, en vez de ponerse a nuestro nivel, ha tratado de elevar el nuestro a un punto más alto - un desafio pero buen método. Estamos de acuerdo que hemos tenido buena practica con la gramatica, nuevo vocabulario, y hemos aprendido informes sobre las actitudes de los españoles hoy en día. Sin duda hay más que habríamos podido hecho, pero nos divertimos con la visita a Cádiz, el flamenco, paseando por las calles y ahora con una visita a Ronda durante los últimos días aqui. Los informes de David sobre varios lugares nos interesaba.
Nos gusta muchísimo el apartamento - muy cómodo, atractivo, limpio y cerca de mucho. Honor es muy atenta y amable y nos ayuda mucho. Gracias a todos por todo!

Vanessa de Fabrega, San Fransisco, USA:David is an excellent teacher - very patient and helpful, and also has a wonderful sense of humor! I definitely want to study with him again next time I'm in Jerez! Through his classes I have started to develop a strong foundation from which I can now proceed.
Jerez is a lovely little town with so much to do. It's fun to wander around the streets discovering little shops and beautiful doors, windows, lamps etc. The new Zoco artisan complex is fantastic! The show at the equestrian school was wonderful too. Next time I'd like to fit in some horseback riding too. And....lots of great food everywhere!
Accommodation: I stay at the Joma hotel every year, but there are many hotels to choose from. The Joma is inexpensive but the lodgings are comfortable and the reception staff very nice and helpful.

Tiril Grimeland, Oslo, Norway:I really liked David's enthusiastic way of teaching me Spanish. It was a good combination of humour, grammar, discussions of interesting topics and music. I had a lot of fun, and learned very much during the three months I spent in Jerez. David's knowledge about almost everything and his way to make a variety in the lessons, made me look forward to each class.
There's so many things to do in and outside Jerez, and I was never bored. Karin took me to several places and small cities around Jerez, so I've experienced a whole lot! Beside bodegas, flamenco and horse-shows, it's a really good place to party. There are many places to join dancing-lessons, and it's easy to get in touch with the different schools. I could always get references from Karin, David or the Lee family for things to do!
I simply loved my accommodation in Jerez! I stayed in Casa Caballeros, and just like Karin, the family there took really good care of me. They were helpful in every possible way, and the apartments were absolutely fantastic.
I can't wait to get back to Jerez! This has been the best three months of my life!

Fritid: Har storkost meg både i Jerez og området rundt – synes det er en utrolig sjarmerende del av Spania. Det var godt og morsomt å bli tatt med på utflukter, samtidig som vi fikk gode tips til utflukter på egenhånd. Tiden fløy! Har blitt tatt veldig godt i mot av alle involverte, og fått god oppfølging fra første stund av deg Karin. Folk i Jerez er vennlige og varme mennesker, og jeg har virkelig blitt sjarmert – gleder meg til neste tur!
Innkvartering: Stortrivdes i Casa Caballero – stille og rolig – herlig vertskap, og nydelige omgivelser. Leiligheten var upåklagelig!

Anne Kari Brekke, Oslo, Norge:Undervisning/materiell: Jeg likte at David var flink til å relatere språket til det ”virkelige” Spania, at han kunne fortelle om mat, kultur, historie osv. Likte også hans tørre humor, og at han var litt krevende og seriøs.
Boka AULA var helt fin, og jeg likte at den var praktisk orientert.
Fritid: Jerez ligger fint til, i forhold til å dra på korte tog – eller bussturer til kysten, Cadiz, Sevilla etc. Karin var veldig hjelpsom, hyggelig og gjestfri fra første mail av, og oppholdet ut, og man følte at man ble godt tatt vare på. Veldig, veldig bra!

Leisure time: I liked the flexibility! It was so great that everyone involved was willing to reschedule so that we could go and see the horses! I was very happy with, what I felt, was an honest attempt to help everyone see or do what they wanted.
Accommodation in Casa Jerezana: I was very happy with the fact that, with such short notice, Lengualuz was able to find me a room and transport me there from Sanlucar. I wasn’t expecting that at all and I really appreciated it.

I studied Spanish for only ten hours at LenguaLuz. Still I learned quite a lot, both of grammar and vocabulary. The teacher took it step by step and was good in giving us keys to understand the Spanish language.
Karin, the head of LenguaLuz, is extraordinary in taking care of the students outside school. She spent a lot of time with us and made us feel welcome in Jerez. She took us among other things to special restaurants, to a local Bodega and to the spectacular Feria de Abril in Sevilla. She was always available in helping us if we met any kind of problem during our stay. The flat she recommended in Chipiona was very nice, quiet, well-equipped and with a beautiful view of the Atlantic ocean.
